Belongs here: the Burgerliches Gesetzbuch, the Napoleonic Code, the Swiss Civil Code, the Louisiana Civil Code, the Uniform Commercial Code as the United States' model commercial code, the Civil Code of Japan, the Civil Code of the People's Republic of China, the Civil Code of Ethiopia, the Civil Code of the RSFSR as the Soviet-era civil code, the Ottoman Mecelle as the first codification of Islamic civil law, and the Ottoman Land Code of 1858. Does not belong here: a constitution or a rights-defining statute, even one bound in the same civil-law tradition, classified by its own subject instead.
