Cases about the structure of government itself: whether courts may strike down legislation or constitutional amendments, how power divides between branches or levels of government, and what standard a court applies when it reviews another branch's action. Belongs here: foundational judicial review rulings, basic-structure doctrine, federalism and secession rulings, and rulings setting a standard of constitutional review. Does not belong here: a case that applies an established structural doctrine to protect a specific individual right, which belongs under constitutional rights and civil liberties instead.
