International and Comparative Law Doctrine

Doctrines that operate between legal systems rather than within a single one: how one state's officials are treated in another, and principles that recur across the world's legal traditions in locally shaped forms. Belongs here: Diplomatic Immunity and Ubuntu Jurisprudence, the latter a doctrine of restorative and communal justice recognized in South African law and drawn on across customary systems. Does not belong here: a doctrine confined to one domestic system's own procedure or constitutional order, however widely comparable it may be, which belongs in whichever domestic-field subcategory actually fits it.
